Congratulations Class of 2023-2024!
Thank you to everyone who attended the 3rd AAPI Convocation on Saturday, May 4th at the Continuing Education Building. We are deeply grateful to our speakers, volunteers, and all who dedicated their time and resources to make this event successful. This year, we celebrated the achievements of our graduates from the Class of 2024. thanks to all attendees, including family, friends, and supporters, the ceremony was a vibrant and memorable celebration of our graduates' hard work and perseverance.

Welcome Class of 2024
The program started with Dr. Shinsuke Eguchi one of the professors and the instructor for the Asian American Studies course here at UNM, and Farah Nousheen from AAPIRC, they started the program with a warm welcome to all attendees and a land acknowledgment by Alina Vulcan one of the Graduates.
President’s Address
President Garnett S. Stokes shared her inspiring thoughts through a video message, emphasizing the importance of community and resilience.
Tributes
Special tributes were made to the late Adélamar “Dely” Alcántara and Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, honoring their memories and contributions, presented by Dr. Theodore Jojola and Sikandar Awan, respectively.
Awards and Graduate Speeches
The Founder Awards were presented by AAPIRC, recognizing the exceptional contributions of Heba Moussa (BS Biology, Biotechnology) and Paulina Przystupa (PhD, Anthropology).

Closing Remarks and Festivities
The convocation was brought to a close by the hosts, followed by a Pan-Asian catered dinner from J.J.Z., music by Asian Beatz DJ Malik, and a photo booth set up by ABQ Amusement.
