Asian American Studies

Established in 2022, the Asian American Studies Program at UNM has been steadily growing, offering students a deeper understanding of the history, contributions, and experiences of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the U.S. This program provides a range of academic courses and events that explore important topics such as immigration, identity, social justice, and cultural representation. Through this initiative, we aim to enrich the curriculum, foster critical discussions, and promote greater appreciation for the AAPI community's role in shaping American society
